I love rocks.

p.s. You should too.

Dr. JAK has loved rocks since she could walk. Whether it is climbing, hiking, or just staring at the ground in the parking lot, she is found stuffing rocks in her pockets. Dr. JAK is the mother of three amazing adventure seekers and wife to a US Army doctor. She has traveled from Finland to Argentina and places in between collecting rocks and dirt. She might have cried when she saw Hobbiton’s party tree in Matamata, New Zealand. Teaching is a passion and Dr. JAK has taught students ages six to retired, from elementary school to universities, and in-person to online. Dr. JAK holds a BS degree from Brigham Young University-Provo in both Geology and Secondary Physical Sciences Teaching, MS and PhD from Baylor University in Geology, and Post-Docs with Baylor University and the University of Utah. She dreams of seeing our blue planet from the window of a space shuttle, while engaging the hyperdrive with a tall, extremely hairy sidekick.
